About Us
In 1969 two clubs, Suburbans Cricket Club and Parks Cricket Club, amalgamated to create Suburban Parks Cricket Club (or ‘Sub Parks’ as we are most often referred), proudly sporting the club colours of Red, White and Green.
In the 1970’s Sub Parks, in conjunction with the Townsville City Council, built a Turf Pitch at Pioneer Park, providing us with a home ground at which many cricket games were hosted and great memories were made, both on and off the field. This facility underwent a major transformation with the construction of the Riverway complex in 2010. This complex included a cricket stadium with a first-class turf field and associated seating and facilities, Junior astro turf wicket and field, and practice net facilities containing multiple turf and astro turf pitches, all under lights. Local, regional, state and national cricket matches have all since been hosted at Riverway Stadium.
With the input and assistance from many great players and volunteers over the years, we have become a strong community-focussed cricket club and an integral member of Townsville Cricket Inc. Boasting multiple representative cricket players and multiple premierships at all levels of Senior and Junior cricket over the years, Suburban Parks continue to maintain a strong presence in the local Townsville Cricket competition and in the broader Townsville community as a whole. We continue to strive to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all players, both past and present, and for all the members, parents and volunteers involved.
